E2 Individual MIDI out Channels

It seems there's no way to isolate a single part's MIDI out. When I record into the RS 7000 the E2 sends any sequenced notes from every part to the same MIDI sequence/part on the RS (kick, snare, bass ect. all inputting their MIDI into one track). I would expect that even though the E2's MIDI channels are hard-wired, it would still send its parts across 16 separate MIDI channels.
I'm only bumping single parts to the RS to lengthen them so it dosen't really matter to me but I'd still like to know if I've missed something.

I use the yamaha rm1x in a similar way.
The rm1x only records multiple channels in song mode.. Not sure if its the same for rs7000.

I've searchged the manual, the only thing I can find about omni mode refers to control change events. There doesnt seem to be any explaination of what it is or which menu to find it in.
The MIDI section details how to assign MIDI out channels but I can't see anything about sorting MIDI in.
I'm trying to do do this in pattern mode BTW.

I don't own an rs7000 and have never used one but if its similar to the rm1x you can only record multiple midi tracks at once in song mode.
Check out page 260 of the RS manual on midi settings.
Try recording a pattern from the electribe to the RS in song mode.
There's a song 'job' that lets you make a pattern (for use in pattern mode) from a piece of your song.
