when I got my used original Microkorg in 2011, every control worked perfectly except the 3 button, which was a bit stubborn to actuate sometimes. I put up with it because it was really no big deal.

I think I get it now. I'm only on my first cup of coffee so I'll struggle to explain.

Sounds like a system glitch to me. A reset might be in order. I've always been able to set my OSC1 and OSC2 independently with no problem.
