A 1N4148 appears to be a good substitute for the 1SS84. Differences in the specs should not matter in the M1 application.

Turn off "Track Protect" per track or changes won't be stored to the sequencer memory.
For the "FD" model, save sequences to a floppy disk before turning off power.
