I don't know if it is a 'mass' problem. But a lot of owners have the same problem.

A lot of us have found that leaving the unit on for many hours 8, 16, 24,
helps.

Screen fails.
You turn off.
You turn back on.
So you leave it on for 8 - 24 hours.
