Another thought is that you are playing a demo plugin which temporarily reduces the volume before bringing it back up again.

I was actually talking about the other way around.

Having the Kronos as the sound source, and playing through the speakers on the iMac without having to open Logic each time.

I managed to get the K2 Platinum edition for £2900 with a stand so that's over £400 off the usual price, so happy now.

Is it me or has the price of the Kronos 2 shot up over the last week or so.

I was thinking of going for the Platinum model as it was around £3029, but it has shot up to £3330 on average in the UK. ...

To be honest, I gave up in the end. I spoke to Korg Support about it and they just said it was the MIDI/USB cable.
