Hello,
I am a synth/guitarist and had a question about the assignable key pads on the M3. From what I have seen, it looks like you can assign chords, single notes, samples, etc to the keypads and play them on the M3. - My question is: is there a way to trigger the key pads by foot pedal, similar to a Taurus pedal? What I would like to be able to do is set up my keypads to be triggered live while playing guitar and use a foot pedal instead of hitting the keypads with my hands (which are tied up on guitar). Does Korg offer a footpedal like this? If not, does anyone know if it is possible to buy a third-party midi pedal to do this?

Thanks in advance !

does the Taurus pedal do midi ?
Very Happy

Seriously, I think your idea is good

I am not sure the 8 pads have preassigned midi messages

Go to GLOBAL MODE > P1:MIDI > Ext.2 tab ...there you can assign the 8 pads to a MIDI channel.

Very cool. So each keypad can be assigned to MIDI? - I am thinking of the possibilities live, such as having sampled background harmonies that I can control via foot pedal. String patches, pad textures, or even a harmony guitar lead Smile.

Has anyone tried this yet? and could you point me in the right direction on some type of midi foot pedal control that would have 8 different foot switches?

Thanks!

Yes. You can also change the Note/CC# and fixed velocity.

As for pedals - check out the link below:

Thanks Trinity. That is exactly what I was looking for.
That is an amazing feature. I'm surprised it hasn't been highlighted more. Even as a synth player only, that is nice.
