Program and Combi banks are pretty big, actually. Doubling or tripling the number would mean, for instance, that the EXs2 piano could not be loaded on a stock 1GB system.

That wouldn't be good! I would rather have the space for engines and EXs RAM.

I store a PCG, with every Song bank (SEQ file). I usually tweak sounds for my songs, so I just keep them married, instead of trying to organize things in one giant program cornocopia.

Hi Dan.

Yep, and I could easy do that. I just need to change the way I work because it's a habit now more than anything else.

The problem for me was originally (back in the pre OASYS days) when I used to gig 7 nights a week. Loading a PCG file on the night was out of the question no matter how fast the system was.

You only had the time to load SNG files, and each SNG file needed to be packed full of songs. When you finished one song, the next one needed to be running almost straight away.

So, it's just a habit I need to break at this stage since I don't gig any more.

That said Wink .... it would be soooooo fantastic if the 8.3 filing system was replaced with 32.3

Regards.
Sharp.

RC-1A, that was a great demo!!!!!

I understand the pirate thing, but burning a CD ROM (worth pennies) would make more sense than a pricey 1 gig memory stick.

I do.
I have a "standard" file with the definitive progs, combis and samples.
Then I have a "scratchpad" version for manipulation, mods evaluation.
And I also have three or four different files each with a different sequence of the combis (in the case the guys of the band decide to change the order of the songs).
That said, I would not need to do so If I used all the User banks.
But, to avoid mistakes and "surpises" on stage, I load the desired configuration and start the gig with "user combi B000".
The whole sequence needs almost all the 128 locations for a 2 and a half hours show.
When it takes seconds to load combis and pgcs, I find it an easy way to work.

it can be loaded wherever you want as long as it is an exi bank (you can change bank type in global mode). Wink
