|
|
Hi OASYANs,
I have installed OS 1.3 and authorised MOD-7. Now I wanted to add some of the FM sounds into my Combis in USER Bank A and tried to use the "COMPARE" Function to switch between the two versions... but it did not work. Any idea what I have done wrong?
[EDIT] so I checked it once more after restarting and it seems that with OS 1.3 the COMPARE Button does not work in the USER BANKs of the Combinations at least on my OASYS [EDIT]
Thx in advance

I just tried this, and it appears to work fine. Can you be very specific about what is happening, and what you would expect to happen instead?
Thanks,

In Combination Mode USER BANK A I am working with a combination that consists of two HD-1 programs. When I change one of them to a MOD-7 program (the sine pad, which I guess is a sound of the 2nd free bank) and do not store it as a new Combination just stay there and want to compare the two versions by simply pressing the COMPARE button it jumps back to the original sound and the COMPARE button does not light red and the changed version gets lost.
Sorry, usually I use the COMPARE button to toggle between two versions of a Program or Combination.. if it is worth to be stored afterwards somewhere else.
Please let me know if my description was helpful.

Hi Peter,
I think I understand what you are trying to do. You can only toggle from your current/last edit to the original. You cannot toggle from one edit to another edited version. Once you change your timber selections, pressing the "Compare" button will only take you back to the original. Also, depending on which tab you are in, pressing "Compare", you could lose your edits. Something to consider for the next wish list - an edit buffer that lets you audition more than one or a series of edit.
The work around is to store different versions of you combi (if you have some empty spaces to work with). I do it all the time.
Cheers,

Thanks to all of you.
@ Eric, the Compare Button is working fine with the Programs, when I compare changes and also working when I compare a Combi if it is stored in the INT Bank.
Have to check it in the evening, when I have some more time.... hopefully.
Again, thanks to all of you for your support!

Hi Peter,
Yes, I am talking about combi mode. Once you start substituting different programs in the combi you are working on, you will not be able to toggle back and forth with each subsequent substitution. The compare button will take you back to the original combi. It would be nice if there was an extended buffer chain that would allow you to compare multiple edits.
Cheers,

Hehe - the miracles of our modern information-age!
Reading all these "surprises" makes it really difficult for me to decide when to switch to 1.3. Musically I'm totally dependent on my Oasys (I even use its sequencer ) - guess I'll wait a little bit until most things are sorted out. |

There are many people for whom it worked fine, and finally I am one of them. This COMPARE button weirdness is completely unlogical, but it is gone. I found out that it did not work in only one combination.. and I cannot tell you if it did not work for OS1.3 installation either.
Without the update you will miss something... . But be sure to unplug all USB devices. I did not read the instructions carefully last time and had to reinstall everything... not to mention the fact that I lost everything on the internal HD. This time it worked fine as you can hear on the blog
