NEW!

I temporarily deleted this song yesterday because it sucked. I just rearranged it (the main problem), re-recorded a small part, and it's much better now. Please take a listen to it, and let me know what you guys think!

Track 12: "Scar"

Instruments:

• Fantom-X Grand Piano patch
• Fender HSS Strat
• Yamaha electric bass

Mixed and mastered on the Fantom-X8 Audio Tracks digital recorder.

Nice job. You should develop that further. I was listening to your other tracks and you could merge 12 scar and 05 fuzz into 1 song. Would be an interesting contrast. Just a suggestion Smile
Keep it up!
Dave

Dave:

Hey, thanks! I really appreciate your feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time to both listen and comment! As you know, having people critique your work is always extremely helpful. It's really nice to get some commentary from someone like you. I've said this before, and I'll say it again, here. I think you're an EXTREMELY talented musician, a very gifted player, and a very creative composer. Love your stuff!

Obviously, these are all only demo ideas with lots of flaws, performance issues, timing issues, etc. Guess I'm still deciding which way to go—I think I'm still just experimenting. Also, the tone on all the guitar parts in "Scar" is all wrong (way too thin and treble-ey). I accidentally set up my signal chain wrong, and lost a lot of character. Gotta re-record all the guitar stuff someday. VERY interesting comment about combining "Scar" and "Fuzz!" Thanks again for your extremely valued feedback!

Oh . . . I forgot to mention one more thing about what you said. Yes, "contrast." Obviously, that's an element I'm trying for here. I'd actually like to try to create "genreless" music someday. I mean they're all mainly standard rock/pop progressions, but I would really like to someday be able to make some music where people won't know what genre to call it.

DOUBLE-PLUS SORRY--DELETE LAST SONG FROM YOUR MEMORY! I SCREWED UP ON THE LAST UPLOAD--IT SUCKED TOO!

NEW! RE-RE-UPLOADED! I totally forgot to patch my cabinet into my guitar's signal chain, so the guitar tone SUCKED on the last upload!!! I re-performed almost everything (the backing piano is still out of time). I re-recorded all of the guitar parts, so it's much better now! MORE RAUNCHY! Less stupid! Listen to it again, PLEASE!

Listened to the latest version only ... loved the guitar parts particularly, but overall liked the loose feel of the whole thing. Cheeky but it works Wink

Thanks for listening, Daz! And for commenting! Really appreciate the feedback! Heh heh . . . LOTS of timing errors still! But thanks for the kind words. What does "cheeky" mean? Like "corny?"

cheek·y

Definition:

1. rude and impertinent: insolently or playfully rude or disrespectful
2. [U.K.] amusing but mildly improper: amusing or endearing despite offending good manners, especially by being mildly sexually improper
The stories are performed by a raconteur with warmth and a cheeky charm.

Well, that makes sense. I've often been described as "amusing" despite my "offensive" manner! Was that a reference to the dissonant notes (is that what you call them)? Anyway, thanks again for the critique, Daz!
