A big big thank you and congratulations to all the staff members at Korg in the US and Japan for delivering the MOD-7. It's stunning, and so much more than I ever dared to dream of.

This is my first update with the Oasys, and although I had a scare initially when installing, several employees from Korg jumped to my rescue within minutes!! Just amazing.. This alone is worth a round of big applauds!!

The Oasys can take me to places I've never been to before..

I'm with Curve on this one. I actually wasn't in a hurry to get MOD 7 thinking its just that old 1984 DX 7 thingo i had back then - i can still remember/hear those sounds in my head today after 20 or so years! I was never really wrapped in the DX7. MOD 7 is light years ahead!! Is MOD 7 the ultimate FM synth?

You've got that right, Billy. MOD-7 is a modular FM monster on steroids.
Galaxies beyond the DX7.
Cheers,
Eric

Yes, thankyou Korg!! You granted my ultimate synth engine wish!! Not only that, the quality of the FM oscillators are incredibly clear.

Also, thankyou for updating the OASYS for more than 2 good years. As much recent bitching was going on, all of you guys deserve mountains of credit. The OASYS is so beyond any "closed" system hardware that I have ever bought. I feel like I can do just about anything with this board.

Absolutely, Mike. In reply to a comment in another site, I had this to say near the end of my post

Quote:
Now I have watched Korg R&D churn out an amazing series of sonic updates. I have never been happier. Roland, Yamaha, Access, Waldorf, Novation, Alesis, Dave Smith, Kurzweil, et al - all music manufacturers equipment I have or have had in my studio...CAN"T touch my OASYS. This latest EXi, MOD-7, is simply phenomenal. I can't say enough for Korg's R&D team. Excellent!

Cheers,
Eric

Yes indeed. Thanks to all of you at Korg who have brought us OASYS.

It is the utmost in creative support, backed up by the best in factory support. Exclamation

FM was on top of my wishlist and in the last days I figured out what can be done with MOD-7 and how expressive (!) it is.

Therefore a >>THANKS<< from my side to all the people @ KORG for fulfilling this desire.

Honestly, at the beginning I was disappointed about the factory sounds. BUT meanwhile I figured out the quality of many of these sounds. One really has to check the influence of the controllers. Thus congratulations to the sound design team. About two we know already but I am quite sure there are more ... maybe we can get some more informations. But somehow I doubt it Laughing... anyway, this does not change my opinion - well done guys (and girls?).
