Am going to buy this option regardless, but would love to know more about it. Does anyone know if you will be able to send your DAW outs back to the M3 via Firewire? The few comments I've read on the Korg site suggest one way operation from the M3 to DAW...

Read my post here:

I intepret the EXB-FW specs as supporting:
-- 6 digital output channels OUT of the M3 (mirroring the 6 analog outputs)
-- 2 diginal input channels INTO the M3 (mirroring the 2 analog inputs)
-- Midi in and out

I was really hoping for the same thing...it would make life a lot easier if I could use the M3 as my audio interface in a live setting, bu it doesn't appear to be designed that way if the M3 inputs are just mirroring the analog inputs (thta seems to be the only way audio comes IN to the M3 from the FW connection.) Now, you could feasibly route the CPU audio through the sampler and directly to an AUX out and use it that way, It could work, but sure doesn't seem ideal.

I think that with the 2 digital inputs, one could easily bus the DAW into the M3 and set the global audio parameters to monitor the signal. Sorta clumsy but should be quite usable - for me anyway.
thanks Martin
