I've checked the archives (excellent info as usual) and found that USB is not an option for storing samples when you turn the machine off. Case of the TC OS not having the necessary drivers. All I have at the moment is floppy which is essentially useless. Is getting an scsi drive the only option and by how much would that increase my ability to store samples for later use in perf? Could I solve the problem by upgrading to Studio, say, or Extreme?

SCSI is the answer my friend.
Personally I would upgrade to the Extreme If you can afford it. CF/USB is a massive bonus especially for live performances as the loading of samples is much quicker.

I had my Classic for 2 years and loved it to bits but found the loading of samples a bit of a chore when using a scsi. Plus its an extra bit of kit you have to take with you LIVE compared to say a CF card/USB stick that you can stick in your pocket.

If this makes no sense please forgive me as its 1am, I have just finished playing a gig and am chillin with a nice malt whisky which tends to affect my ability to string more than 3 words togever!

Smile

Clear enough to me. But then I don't know how eloquent you are pre single malt.
A couple of things. How much memory has an scsi disk?
Is it true that the extreme has in-line sampling that allows you to sample while you're playing a sequence?
David.
