Hi friends,

I have released some videos (8 so far) from Winter NAMM 2008 that I shot while I was there, featuring
performances by various artists on the main stage at the the Korg booth. While most of these feature
the Korg M3, there are a few with the OASYS as well. You can access all of these from
the video list in the KLVideoPlayer, or from the links below:

If you have any issues seeing the videos in the list, try clearing your browser's cache files.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ELDAR

Grammy-nominated jazz keyboardist Eldar performing on the M3 - this 20 year old phenomenon
blew my socks off! (actually, he blew everyone's socks off. We were all sitting there thinking "I may
never touch a piano again" Laughing) I really like his playing - and his technique and hand independence
are extraordinary:

NAMM 2008 - Eldar #1 (Place St. Henri)
NAMM 2008 - Eldar #2 (I Should Care)
NAMM 2008 - Eldar #3 (Dreamlike)
NAMM 2008 - Eldar #4 (Windows)

More info on this artist can be found at www.eldarjazz.com.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEREK SHERINIAN

Progressive rock keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Project X, Dream Theater, Billy Idol) plays the Korg M3
and discusses some of his favorite things about it:

NAMM 2008 - Derek Sherinian

More info on this artist can be found at www.dereksherinian.com.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FRANK McCOMB

Jazz and R&B keyboardist/vocalist Frank McComb performing on the M3:

NAMM 2008 - Frank McComb #1

More info on this artist can be found at www.frankmccomb.info
Incidentally, you may recall that Frank wrote one of the factory demo sequences in the M3.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JACK HOTOP and MICHELE PACIULLI

Jack Hotop and Michele Paciulli - two of the Korg Voicing Team members doing demos on the OASYS
and M3, along with the EXs3 Brass and Woodwinds sample library:

NAMM 2008 - Michele Paciulli #1 (Orchestral Fun n' Games)

NAMM 2008 - Jack Hotop #1 (Dragons)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me? I was just hanging out and schmoozing this year, and shooting video. I have some more video
recorded from many of these artists that I will put up as time allows.

Here's Eldar and yours truly - he's a nice guy as well. While he didn't use KARMA in any of the above
performances, he did tell me he digs it, and uses it at home to jam with and to do demos and
build song ideas. Applause

Enjoy! Sounds Good

Wow, that kid Eldar really wales. Anyone who's not sure about the acoustic piano sound on the m3 only has to listen to that Oscar Peterson song. Sounds as good as any digital piano I've ever heard. Loved Jack's Dragon tune too. Great stuff.

That just go to show how subjective a piano sound is as the M3 piano in the demo above sounded to me thin and brittle. I am a korg fan through and through but to me that is not a good piano.

I don't understand why some folks are afraid to edit a sound

On the M3, you can set the velocity curve to 8 or 9 (Global settings -> Basic setup) which gives you a wider dynamic range.

Great stuff !

Hey, you guys who were at the NAMM... It must be a fantastic experience just to be around Michele Paciulli. That guy seem to have no limitation in his genoiusly creativity.

And using a tool like the Oasys or M3 does make it even better.

Man - so much for the Korg piano complaints! Finally put them to rest!

Loved the Star Wars theme in there w/assistance from the audience!

Thanxs for posting Stephen!

Ehm.. I don't know what you've written. I've in Poland last summer, and there I've played my "klarnet basowy", I like the name. But I'm italian Wink
