hi i currently have a korg x-50, what would be a good keyboard to upgrade to???

Depends on what you want to do - what are you missing in the X50? Also, I'd be useful to know whether you want/have to sell your current synth.

If you're happy with Korg sounds and interface - M3 would probably be the best "direct upgrade". But you might also want to check out the competition, every brand has its own unique features, pros and cons.

The X-50 basically is a Triton without sampling, add-on boards, or sequencer. The natural upgrade is to a used Triton Extreme. You could also get the M3 with the free Radias Bonus offer from Korg. Or you could keep the X-50 and buy complementary synths.

im in a funk/rock band, and i use my x-50 for recording and live use. i was thinking of getting a roland v-synth gt. but i dont know much about them.

Theya re all much of a muchness. depending on what you want to spend, they will all be roughly the same. It will come down to which instrument has the kind of sounds you like. For me, the microX has about 5 times the hit-rate of any other ROMpler I've owned. For the kind of music I make, it has far more than anything else I know. You might find that a Fantom has more sounds that you like. Its a very personal choice, really.
