Hey guys I'm a synth noob and am currently very very frustrated...

I have a Korg X-50 and a copy of FL Studio 7

For the past couple weeks I have been trying to get audio from the X50 into FL studio, but have been largely unsuccessful

I have tried running a cord from the x50's main output into the mp3 plug in the back of my hardrive, but that didn't work

I have also tried going in an RCA port in the back of my speaker system, but while I can hear the notes I play on the x50, FL studio cannot register them

can anyone tell me how they record audio from the x50, or just help me figure this out?

I'd really appreciate it Very Happy

You need to run the L+R outputs of the keyboard to the soundcard audio input on your computer.

Your speakers aren't an audio input for your computer.
Your harddrive isn't an audio input for your computer.

Your computer has the audio input for your computer.

Shouldn't that be obvious? Has nothing to do with knowing anything about synthesizers. If you want to record audio from any source outside your computer, you need to hook it to the audio input of the computer.

that's what I meant by the mp3 plug in the back of my computer

I plugged from Mono/L into the soundcard and heard no sound

shouldn't I have at least heard the Left, Mono noise, or do I need to have both Left and right before I hear anything?

What you probably need to do is check the settings in your extended Volume controls panel, on the "Recording" side, of course. Make sure that the "Wave" slider is up and active. I usually access it from Control Panel because sometimes the device attached to the tray icon is not the same one that FL will use.

Damn I did it all for money and got nothing...

it seems like the author would of been better off by just checking the forum week later, cause now the record questions are flooding the forum like the "how to switch programs quickly" before O_o,

"is this sparta or MADNESS?"
