I will be receiving a microX in the mail soon and I was wondering if it's good at ambient, textural type stuff. I had a Xiosynth which was good at low-fi Radiohead-ish sounds, but ultimately I was looking for a more versatile board, so I'm sending it back and I ordered a microX (unfortunately, I can't afford to keep them both). Is the microX good at these types of sounds?

Probably, although its hardly my area of expertise. I used to have a K-Station, which is very similar to your XioSynth, and the microX will be a significant step-up from there.

The MicroX will be even better if you control it from an external sequencer or midi controller, so that you aren't limited by the two octave keyboard to do wide octave pads or use large drum/sfx kits.

Cool, thanks for replying. When I can afford it, I may end up getting another Xiosynth just for the heck of it. But I'm sure I'll dig the microX anyway.
