What you need to connect depends entirely on what you intend to do. What are you trying to do?

You don't need to hook-up any midi cables.

You need to connect the USB port from the keyboard to the computer.

Then you need to load the Korg USB-midi driver.

Then you can install and configure the Korg Editor software and the Plug-In Editor software.

The Editor software needs to send midi commands to the keyboard in order to control it, however it doesn't need a midi cable to do this, since USB-midi supports both midi in and out to the computer.

To record midi, the sequencer software needs to receive midi input. It can also do this using the USB-midi input channel. The plug-in editor gives you the VST support to use within the sequencer, and that requires sending midi to the keyboard, but the USB is all you need.

There is no need to hook the X50 to the ProjectMix in order to control it. The ProjectMix will control the sequencer/DAW. The sequencer/DAW will control the X50 through the plug-in software.

if you want to use midi instead of usb

both cables are needed for 2way communication

the X50 OUT ----> PC IN
lets you record notes into your computer

the X50 IN <---- PC OUT
lets your recorded notes in your computer, trigger things off your X50

(though you will likely need to connect audio cables from the L+R output on your X50 to sound inputs on your computer to hear and record anythin)

but the USB cable allows 2way communication

so if you use that, there is no need for the midi cables
