|
|
I finally decided to buy the EMX, lost a few ebay bids so i thought id just go take a look at the retail price. went to one of the biggest hardware stores in scotland and im told that the EMX has been discontinued by korg and they are no longer manufacturing them. Is this true? If not have they stopped shipping to the uk? Surely if they are discontinuing it they must have a new 'music production' product line up? _________________ Aint no thing like a chicken wing..... |

interesting . if its soundcontrol ur speaking about thats VERY interesting !!
Ive been trying to get hold of rob davis of korg uk to do some blagging in order to get a hint of a new electribe or a NO at least , but he is on holiday at the moment so i'll be bringing this "discontinued" thing up when i speak to him .
most likely they hav made enough cash from the
x-tribes
to fund the cost of new ones .. i think .
if they really are discontinued thats quite a hint in my book
Only time will tell ...
p.s. Surely you can track an mx down on the net somewhere if u really want one , and i recomend u hunt . These things are Immense when used correctly and just like all the all-time-classic synths its will last u a long time ... if u can learn it to a higher level . |

i´m thinking actually of getting two more for spare parts.
new ones would be pretty incredible.i am really interested how korg will break the mould again. mind you i bet it´s in development and they want to make it perfect. there is a real cult lurking out of electribes. korg is clever enough to know it.
imagine- kaoss pad, poliphony, multiple outputs, radias engine, velocity seq...
it has to be something like that.
i hope they aim to be in the upper price class too.
but don´t think it will be anytime soon. |

i am going to get one off the net, but i have cagedbaby coming up next week and it has severely drained my cash money to pay for the last few weeks. You can get one of ebay for about 2 to 3 hundred but id like one with a warranty. nevertheless ill be buying one soon. If caged baby goes really well i might have enough coin for both the tribes.
My computer broke ages ago, and i was sick of drawing graphs and charts to make music anyway. so im swaying towards hardware. Prob get a computer again later to get some MIDI action on the go. _________________ Aint no thing like a chicken wing..... |

I spoke to somebody at Korg a week ago and they claimed that they were still a current product - where has this discontinued rumour come from? |

Bah - not taking the chance. Just snapped one up on EBay. Paid more than I hoped for second hand but it will take pride of place next to my KP3 and Karma. |

It is - Korg Inc. is still making both the EMX-1 and ESX-1 - we order and receive them on a monthly basis here is the US. And plan to for some time to come.
