Seems off that only US buyers get the rebate.
It´s much more expensive to buy Korg products´here (in sweden)

Paid just over $1000 for the Korg R3 (bargain)
List price in stores $1175

Well it could be that the US sales are higher, and the US economy seems to react positively to rebates, whether they make sense or not (just look at the recent "stimulus package" if you don't believe me)...therefore we (typical frivolous Americans) spend more in the long run.

I have more thoughts, but will not post them publicly, cause I hate politics.

And Govt's/retailers!

Price of living here is higher.

I've spec'd up a couple of Dell laptops over the last few years (didn't actually buy them in the end), and, even subtracting the 17.5% VAT we (Brits) have on all products, the identical laptop in the US cost 47% (under half) of what it does here, even before US rebates/coupons were added (again, the rebates/coupons were US-specific), so if they were used it ended up like 40% of what we pay. Add the tax and it's even more.

Admittedly it's a more limited market over here, though. 61-million people reside in the UK (as opposed to 300-million in the USA). Sweden has 9-million. Retail outlets are smaller and have higher overheads. Equally the workers are subjected to the same UK costs of living, and need to eat/live. However in saying that, half of this stuff is out-sourced in somewhere like India (like Dell support, HSBC bank, etc.) these days.

Sales Taxes in the Europe are also higher, right ?

Here in New Jersey the sales tax is 7.5% and in the UK VAT is 17.5% ! If I order something from another state in the USA, I don't pay any sales tax at all.

Things need to be cheaper here anyway, 'cos if you're being paid in dollars it's worth so much less than it was. I wish I was still being paid in GBP.

Daz.

Tell me about taxes... If I sell a print framed, they suck 21% VAT, if I sell a print matted, still 13.5% Evil or Very Mad

Ah well, always the same.

Good thing is, I just ordered my M3-73 in Germany, there was a 200 Euro cashback offer until end of May.

Really excited about that, bought my Karma in 2001, 7 years later now the M3. Laughing

hey atleast you're not me who paid (hold your breath folks) 1200 USD for my microkorg, and ANOTHER 100 UDS for the gig bag. yeah we have better pay in scandinavia than in the US, but the price difference is so big that buying brand new from the states, paying for premium shipping and handling and any import taxes and a norwegian power supply, and still I'd be coming out at around 60-70% of norwegian prices..

...and thus, I praise the lord for eBay Wink

Just ressurecting this thread for a little longer. Very Happy

I've just bought a Korg TR61 from B&H Photo Video in New York. They're not listed in Korg's list of retailers in the NY area, so can I just download the rebate form from another website and send it in anyway? Or does it have to be bought from an authorised seller [e.g. Guitar Center]?

Thanks

Ian
