Thanks for putting up the new section Daz.
Looks like a very cool product. A real working man's gigging machine if I ever saw one.
Regards.

The only thing i don't like about M50: no ribbon, only 6 program banks.
are the programs in M50 exactly the same as in M3 except for Karma, or are they completely redesigned? _________________ World needs Nikola Tesla’s technologies |

Its all the same thing. Absolutely nothing special. If someone had Korg before there is no need to upgrade. But this is not just Korg. It is all of the manufacturers who recycle.
It could be better to update keys. Because even M3 had those Fisher Price keys. Keys used in EXTREME where first developed for M1 - 18 years ago.
Korg also has to develop some more realistic guitar effects. In this I still hear those bad plastic guitar sounds as I have in X5DR (1995).
And what is disappointing is that EDS is not a big update over HI. I don't hear it. Or a massive program update needed.
IMHO. _________________ Gear: roland Juno-G, korg x5dr, Monologue, e-mu 0404

Hi Vadim,
It's a mixture of both. We did do a lot of conversion of the best M3 Programs and Combis, drawing on everything we had made for the M3 up through the 512 SuperCharge campaign, plus some new development.
It's 100% EDS compatible so it can easily share from the M3 resources.

Jerry |

Hi Jerry
I am a current owner of the Korg PA800 arranger which I use primarily for creating backing tracks. The M50 intrigues me so I took a look at the M50 manual to understand if it's onboard sequencer can be used in a similar manner to capture drums and bass tracks simultaneously like I can on an arranger. Is there a video which details song composition workflow using the M50? Or does it just allow you to build tracks one part at a time?
thanks

No aftertouch.
I admit Korg made very generous move by down scaling M3 to M50 and still keeping most of M3's structure, but no aftertouch?
Come on... |

Online retailers should have them the 1st week of November from what I'm seeing.
Does the introduction video link posted at Korgs website work for anyone?? I get audio but no video
http://www.korg.com/KMplay/NSplay.htm?path=http://video.korgusa.com/km/M50_full.wmv
I was about to jump on an used Extreme but I may have to try one of these M50's. Knowing me I'll get both, this obsession never goes away
The Youtube vid is good enough for now..

Dear Korg! I had a time to explore this synth here in Hungary on Soundquest exhibition. Before I wrote that I didn't like it just from the picture, but now I still don't like it after playing on it. Why Korg make a cutoff from the most important thing - the keybed??? Contoller buttons are not really good too.
Too hard. And the keys don't respond at all to a slowly light press. How to play a piano in this case?
Look at Juno Stage. It has very good keys (overall synth is a little weak) they are almost like the flagship Fantom's.
My TR has much better keys than M50 and the buttons are much easier to press.
The screen also have this stripes on it (contrast doesn't really help).
I never liked the touchscreen but this is just for me. In live conditions i trust buttons more. _________________ Gear: roland Juno-G, korg x5dr, Monologue, e-mu 0404
