|
|
I know from another post from Shapr that:
Sampling is an art and not something that you can read in a manual... However I am wondering if is there any sampling Guide/Book out there, where I can read and learn a bit more about sampling ??
Does anyone know about a sampling Guide/Book ????
I just want to learn more about making Real Good Samples. |

Hi.
I'm not aware of any books on the subject, but I can tell you some simple things that will help you. Strangly enough not many people know but you can use maths to calculate the loop for pretty much any sample.
For example, if you where to loop a drum beat. This forumla will work 100% of the time without fail.
Sample Hz x Beats x 60 / BPM = The loop point.
You can read more on this here.

For instruments there's a way more complicated formula and to be honest. It's more probably better to write a small program to do the donkey work. A Sample Loop Calculator of sorts.
If I get the time, I'll knock something up using SwishMax and compile an exe with SwishStudio.
Regards.

Thanks Sharp, Thanks for the advice.
Now I have another question??
How to loop a stereo sample ???
I have sampled a stereo acordion on the OASYS, When Plays without Loop plays nice ...Then I convert that sample to wave for Lopping on my computer...
Then when I load it back onto the OASYS It doesn't sound with the same quality as before, I load both samples L/R ....
What am I doing wrong ???? |

What software is best for creating perfect loops?
Sharp, a long time ago I recall you had posted a software that makes creating loops very easy.
Is there something on PC, or even better a MAC, that will do this?
Other than recycle. |

Yes, at the time the one I mentioned was Seamless Looper, but it seems that the developer has been bought out by FL Studio who decided to sink the program. I havbe no idea why since it was such a fantastic program.
I'm having difficulty now running it on VISTA, so somtime ago I switched over to www.extranslator.com
It's not an Audio Editoir in the sence that Seamless Looper was, but it allows you to loop samples almost as good, but there's the added benifit that it's also a progarm that can convert VSTi's into sampled libraries.
So it's more of a sound design progarm with looping features, not an audiop editor.
Regards.
