Hi Folks! I`m slowly catching up on listening to the grand music here having been away from I.A. for so long....had some major health issues but am back up and running. I was listening to Simon`s tune on sotm and words and ideas immediately started to flow.....I immediately went to the le-88 and started to bang away. I was truly inspired by this piece and wanted to come up with a ballad to do it justice. This is a work in progress and we hope to do some collaberating with files going back and forth till we get it fine tuned. Any thoughts are appreciated in helping our future endeavor along. Here goes......

My thanks to Simon for allowing me to try this on.
Cheers!

How cool is this?? And why am I getting a bit of Neil Young here? Very nice simple classic sound. I like the lyrics. They're so simple but it makes them stronger how easily the lines flow. OO, those harmonies are gorgeous. I really love this. Do flush this out on the production side, but the song is all there. I can't wait to hear this completed. Hope all is well on the health side. That's a bummer for sure when you have health issues. Keep us posted. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

I would love to hear vocals on Chordial's version. That would simply rock. I love the punch of his production. The vocals sit quite nicely on this. I would love to hear a little more variation, but that could come with some production.
Great job by you guys though.

Jon, Thanks for the listen and comments. My hope is, of course, to use Simon`s main bed of tracks, add a wee bit of keys and vox, and mix it down. I`m not a guitar player and used the LE--8 to simulate as good as possible what I was going for so Simon could grab a listen. The punch of his tracks give it a nicer dynamic for sure.
George, Neil is playing near here in November, as it happens. Tickets sold out on the spot and we missed getting a chance at it. Funny you mentioned that because I was hearing shades of his style there too....my brother is a huge Neil fan so maybe that`s rubbing off on me a little. Didn`t occur to me while tracking it at all. The lyrics reflect the"less is more" philosophy, probably because it went down so quickly and production has never been my forte but I`m working on it. Can`t help sticking harmonies in.....they seem to creep into just about everything I do. Am looking forward to working with Simon on this as it really grabbed me from the start.
CHEERS!

Excellent it's up and running
Ron mailed me to say he had been working on this track, and I was blown away with it.
We're hoping to get the tracks over and then work can continue. _________________ Chordial |

This is cool! Wow, Ron you do sound like ole Neil. How beautiful is it for musicians to collaborate from different countries. I love this forum! _________________ “I’m into scales right now.”

Hi Ron - welcome back - glad you are able to join in
I liked your tune for the nice pleasing overall sound and vocals (has a touch of Supertramp). I did expect more instruments to come in at some point - drums guitar etc. But it's not required - it stands on its own as is.

Thanks Jaz...I couldn`t agree more about musicians from all over the world collaberating....it`s a real joy in life for me to be able to work with other people`s music and Simon has graciously allowed me to "horn in" on his tune. Yes, this site is so unique for many reasons including the opportunity to share the vibes with others.
Stephen, Glad you enjoyed the listen....this time last year, I wasn`t sure how much more music I was going to get to do but things worked out for me and now life seems much sweeter indeed. Hopefully the muse will continue to visit. Good to hear your voice too mate!
Art, It`s great to be back. This just came straight out listening to Simon`s work on sotm and I wanted to put something together for him to see if it could be worth working on together. The plan is to swap tracks back and forth so I expect we will have a bit more instruments ...I really like his full rhythm beds to build on as they have a lot more "bite" to them....so we`ll see how it goes. Good to hear from you!
CHEERS!

I'm writing while listening, and must say that it sounds cool!
The strumming is really nice, I would mix it a little clearer, in the way to cut a little middle frequencies...
But, hey, these choirs and vocal harmonies are really top quality!
Very well done! _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic

O.K.
Not much for "this one" to say...and Ron and Simon have been such good friends to all of us....this is just special...
You NEVER KNOW...or perhaps you remember... I like both the persons here... as writers...and developers...There are elements of a wonderful song from the past as well...
And this is SPOT ON !!!!!!!!!!! for me....for the NEW age we are doing now, after three years of OSAM..... In particular this third one...
I just remember tunes done....from the past...; feel again the issues, ideas, and emotions, some rather close to me right now...., that you guys have developed, so this really grabs my attention....
Won't soon forget this one!!!

Hey Ron, Hope you're good to go now ! I have never heard one thing you've done that I didn't just love to death. You're a fabulous singer/songwriter. Glad that you and Chordial could do a piece together. Nice title for that. Wow, lovely lovely harmonies. You're a pro - I always said that. Like that piano in there too.
Nice job guys.
