I realize this question has been asked before, but maybe someone from Korg can check in and give us some type of timeline. I love the M-50. Especially since they're going to offer it in a 73 note version. Perfect for splits, etc...

That's the one I want.

Korg (et al.), when can we expect it?

I've heard rumors that it would be announced at January's NAMM show, but that's just a rumor.

Korg, please count me in for the 73! 61 is okay for just synth stuff, and 88 is okay if you're a dedicated piano guy, but 73 (or 76) is JUST RIGHT.

I am considering of buying a 73 key when it will be available, also!

+1. Or if you're a "dedicated piano guy", but can't handle the weight of the 88, even though the M-50 88 will be lighter than normal. 45.86 pounds isn't bad, but 17.6 pounds is way better!

The 88 is very light for a weighted 88 workstation - and because it's so slim it's really easy to handle for gigging. And all worth it for that superb RH3 action.

The M50-88 is actually 2/3 of the weight of the Fantom X8 I used to own - and way better value for money! Not to mention better sounds in almost every category - and I used to be a Roland fan!

It is stated right on the Korg website that the 73-key will be available in a few months...I'm not sure when they actually posted this info, but unless something changes,a few months is a few months.

I agree that there will be at least, be a mention of it at the Namm show and that is probably the best that you can hope for at this point.

It's too bad you can't buy this stuff at Wal-Mart. Then you could try it for a few days (weeks) and return it. I'd like to try the 88 with a soft case, but I'd have to use on at at least 7 - 10 gigs before I was able to decide if it would work for me.

Most music stores have such piss-poor return polices (store credit? I don't think so. Oh, then how about that 20% restocking fee?), that you have to be absolutely sure about what you want. Otherwise you risk getting hosed.

If anyone can recommend a decent US music store with a policy that would actually let you try out an instrument for a few days with a full refund policy, they would definitely earn my business.
