Is the "Natural Touch" keyboard on the M50-61 the same Korg-manufactured keybed used on the M3-61 and M3-73? And is there any news on when the M50-73 will be released in the US? Or are we still waiting until NAMM?

Do you know what the exact difference is? I'm hoping that the M50-73 has a keybed that is a little more "piano-like" than the M3-60 and M3-73.
A 73-key instrument ought to be playable like a piano, and it's certainly possible to build a lightweight, semi-weighted keybed that can be used this way; the M3-73 isn't too bad, and the Yamaha NP-30, with its cheap all-plastic but very playable keybed, is even better. A graduated touch (a "natural touch"?), with a heavier action at the bass end, is a significant part of the NP-30's feel. Of course, everybody has a different opinion about what constitutes a playable piano keybed... |

The only M50 with a piano type weighted feel.....would be the M50-88. I understand that the keybed on the M50-73 will be identical to the feel on the M50-61. Have you had your hands on the M50-61 ??

My M3-73 action is OK, as I said, but the instrument weighs 40-some lbs., and I was hoping that the M50-73 (at 17 lbs.) could replace it for gigging, with a slightly better piano feel...have to head over the mountains to Guitar Center to try out an M50-61, I guess...

I have played a friends M3-73 and really like the robustness of the feel of that keybed. I don't find the M50-61 keybed unfriendly, but the camparison with the M3 isn't a fair fight.

I was quite pleased with the feel of the 61. BTW, in almost all cases, a 61 and 73/76 note keyboard will have identical key actions, with the 88 note usually having closer to a "piano" type feel.
Does anyone know when the 73 will be available in the U.S.? |

I just talked to someone at Sweetwater and they said they would be in about the middle of March. They also said the price for the M50-73 would be $1399. |
