Well this month is a total experiment. In fact, the genre is experimental. All the sounds are from the iPhone. I recorded audio and mixed on my PC as usual.

There were some interesting challenges, but it was fun. The interface for sound tweaking in real time is fun and challenging.

So if U can swallow experimental - please tune into:

Note - the low end is strong so watch dem cones people!

PS - I'll be listening to all your tune later this evening.

Hey, is this drum n bass ambient? I've got this on headphones and the quality is fine, it's not like killing my ears or nothing. I could easily see taking this and adding either spoken word, or if you could set a keyboard to the bpm, you could add things from the keyboard. Hey, that was cool. I would never have known anything different if you hadn't explained how you came up with this. It could have been generated on the pc or a keyboard. Yet I'm sure with the interface it enables you to come up with notes you wouldn't ordinarily play. Very cool. Now I want an iphone. Does the ipod touch have the same thing on it?

Yea - I guess this is sort of a D&B ambient. I just re-listened to it - not impressive. The pure tones from that app. are very difficult to work with. The drums and bass apps. were easy (sans triplets though). The tone app. is a blast to play with on the screen as U drag nodes around (2 types of nodes) and let them interact.

Yea - there is a lot of open territory here - I took this as more of a fun experiment rather than a really serious tune, so I only used the iPhone.

One thing about composing on the iPhone is that you really need headphones. So it is a bit weird sitting with the iPhone wearing headphones in various places. And they need to be good headphones. And yes - I believe that all the apps. I used R available for the iPod Touch.

Some of the sounds I used would have been very difficult to make via the M3 or Triton as one has to figure out how to get knobs to do the function of the touch screen for sound generation - too much work for me.

One more tune to go for me .....

Hi Art

Well....done with a phone!! This is just plain weird and you sure found some interesting sounds here. Some of them really had me smiling - you will know which ones, I'm sure.

As someone else said, next step would be to add some more keyboard stuff - like say - how about a tune perhaps..?..?

Very Happy

Regards from
Dee

Well, and you would think that telephones were made for making telephone calls lol...

It is weird but i like the groove and the sound on the low end. That iphone thing is slightly beyond my understanding as I don't use mobile phones, but the effect is quite cool.

The strangest thing I've heard for a while Art!
Compelling in a sound track way, it was nice when the percussion came back in, some of the sounds reminded me of Japan (the group).
I think this would suit a grungy type video, exploring abandoned buildings in a city for instance.
Bravo for having a go!
Cheers Simon

Hi Art,

This one is really unique, and very well produced as well. the sound here brings me into a kind of gaming situation...(tho' much more complex..) That is, it has a series of sound parameters that make for a seeking of a purpose... yet the sounds are..., I say.. VERY arresting!

The feel on a strictly musical basis, needs some unifying element in some ways... yet again...the sounds and the total composition speak well for interest elements...

I enjoyed this and still am amazed with your sound ...but a jet just went over, so I have to start again...I first thought it was in the recording...(when still at a distance...and you know me...easily confused....)

Great Sounds!! Boy, this was F-U-N!!!!!!!!

Bets Always, John (ellll) Very Happy

Hi!

Well, it's nice!!
I can hear Synthpond and BassLine...
what other instruments have been used?

Maybe we can get in touch and discuss about iPhone/iTouch apps for making music!

Regards

LOVE the beggining part...could be made into a very edible mainstream beat...mainstream yet a brand new flavor.

I used iDrum, Noise.io Pro for the drums and bass beat.

I used Bebot for the Sci-Fi'ish sounds (probably the ones Dee was referring to), and synthPod for the almost arpeas.

I didn't have Ocarina at the time, but that is one cool app.!

Diego - what apps. have you been using? This tune was all your fault ya know Smile

Cheers,
