Something I found last night::

My live gig is played with two tunings (one @ 440, other is 1/2 step down).
Last night, I was making a new piano combi (something I've been messing with for weeks, trying to get the perfect piano sound), when I would bring other piano sound into the combi, I could just change one transpose in tone adjust, and the entire keyboard would do as it should for that channel/track (drop 1/2 step down), but with program A22, I needed to use 2 transposes to tune the entire keyboard down. For whatever reason, it's almost like A22 when brought into a combi is acting like a split on the keyboard.

I've noticed this in the past also, but assumed it was user error (my stupidity). But last night I wasn't in a big rush, so I tried to figure out how & why A22 was splitting like that?

Any thoughts on this issue will be GREATLY appreciated!

Mike

Isn't it easier to use the global key transpose for this?

Well, normally yes, but for my use,,, NO WAY!

Me & the female singer play keys, with constant guitar changes. She can't handle dealing with making that change on every song almost (Generally, we switch singers/tuning/guitars every 2 or 3 songs), and I got to much other stuff to worry about. FLipping to GLobal mode every couple of songs,,, to easy for me to forget.
My way, I just name the combi the same name as the song, having the combis in the set(s) order, then keep flipping thru as the night goes on. Tuning will never be an issue as long as I/she has the correct combi ready to go.

Harder to set up, but for the live part, the ONLY way to go for simplicity sake.

Yes, I guess it's best to not depend on having to retune between songs. I remember a while back when the keyboard player in one band I used to play in started on Rocking all over the world without transposing down to the key of the other players. The song has a piano intro, so everything is well until the rest of the band strikes the first chord Smile

But back to the A22. I tried to make a combo using A22, and I could transpose it easily up and down using the transpose box in the Timbre Param/Pitch 1-8 page.

But I noticed that the midi from my M50 into Cubase don't seem to take the master transpose (from the global page) into account....
