--USB vs SCSI
--Advanced software
--Valve Force
--128 Voice Polyphony
--and much more...............................................

I recommend Extreme too.
For reasons Dimitris mentioned above plus some more:
Triton Rack: SCSI is obsolete these days and it's very hard to find anything that supports it. Buying additional expansions, 8 in total, is probably a serious adventure, considering the fact Triton line and those expansions are also obsolete - TR is still in the stores, but expansion cards for Triton aren't. In my country, one is able to find some of them here and there but finding all of them seems to be mission impossible. Without expansion cards, Triton Rack wont give you much of a sonic power. Also, using Triton Rack with midi controller could be a pain - issues with midi channels in combis, midi controller would have to be fitted with modulators, switches and knobs in order to provide all AMS sources support, meaning some cheessy controller wouldn't do.
Karma: has the same keybed as N364 or X3 - those are Korg keys, which are worse (lighter - that may be fine to someone, but not to most players I know) than Yamaha keys on Extreme (and T3, i3...).
Now, Extreme is hard to find. Musicians aren't willing to sell their Extremes since they are very well rounded and very potent, even these days when new workstations like M3, Fantom G or Motif XS are in the game, Extreme can cope with them easily (at least for me, but also many musicians share the same opinion).
If you need both, sonic power and Karma, you should take M3 into consideration. New workstation, new Xpanded which finally gave M3 what it should have in the first place, current flagship (which means a few more years of support, development and compatibility), Karma - everything in one package. This is just a suggestion.
Since poll is about Extreme, Rack and Karma, I say Extreme. |

EXTREME
EXTREME
EXTREME!!
I received my mint 61 key about 2 weeks ago and haven't stopped fondling it. I've had the Karma for about a year so when I suggest the Extreme, I can do so being unbiased as I have both. With that said, A KARMA in good condition can be had for less and are more common and they are awesome machines! But if I could only keep one, I'd toss the M50 and KARMA away and keep the Extreme.
The sheer amount of progs and combis is rediculous. The connections are plentiful, it's sexy looking, the touch screen is excellent, sounds fanfriggintastic, need I go on?
Did I mention I love this thing?! _________________ Life is short, play a KORG!

Floppy drive? The Triton Extreme Rack was designed in 2006 when flash drives were all the rage.

The extreme rack is pretty bomb, maybe korg should consider this along with making a keytar (=P)? They dont have any rack modules out right now do they? |

Triton Extreme for me.
All the benefits mentioned in the earlier posts plus (with a little saving of pennies/pounds) a purchase of the KARMA software, add-on sets; and the addition of a MicroKontrol/or Control 49 and you've got Karmafied version of the M3 - just waiting for Mr Kay to write the unpgrades of the TR and MW software to match the M3 parametres and we're there. (Wishful thinking) |
