Hello,

I'm the owner of M1 bought almost 20 (yeah!) years ago. I'm interested in buying KLC because of one crucial function that I through the years missed on both M1 and WS - PORTAMENTO.

On korgs website I could not read about that function in KLC 1.5 or other versions.

Any idea?

Regards.

There still is no portamento on either, but don't worry, there are lots of new features in both.

I'm asking because that is the missing link, especially for WS, that is keeping it away from becoming a No. 1 Trance Machine ever Smile

But maybe it is not possible to implement because it takes a bit reconstruction of some architecture I guess. But I really hope that it will be done in next coming v2.0 release.

Thanks!

Well, where did you hear there was a 2.0 release coming? They haven't touched this app in forever, what makes you think they will update it in the future?

Well version 1.6 and 1.7 is out so I suppose there will be version 2.0 also. Maybe in 2011 but still...

Portamento is hard to implement fully in instruments that are based on samples. Much easier on analog models, such as the MS20 and MonoPoly. You'll have a lot of fun with those!

Spectrasonic instruments manage it just fine jg::. As do others.

I think the reason probably lies more with the fact that neither the original hardware M1 nor the Wavestation had portamento. So the modelled instruments reflect this.

But then again, the original Wavestation didn't have a resonant filter but they added one in the DE software, so who knows?

Kind regards.

Update:

Despite the absent of portamento, I purchased KLC DE! With dongle...
