I would start with downloading the M3 progs/combis since they are 100% compatible.

Make sure you check out the organs that Korg developed for the M50.
And go onto the Korg site & get familiar with it... Particularly the download spots for the M50.

@Robbie
Have you tried the string and orchestra COMBIS, too? Also, don't hasitate when it comes to tweaking your sounds. _________________ Regards, Carsten

Sorry - HI-Synthesis is not compatible with EDS-Synthesis! As I said in one of my previous posts, judging sound quality is highly subjective. Talk to your dealer and try to return the M50 or try trading it for a TR61 which would give you the exact sound set of the X50 plus a 16-track sequencer and optional sampling. It would also mean making do with only one insert effect
Or start saving some money and get a used X50 to go along with the M50 - they've become fairly affordable on ebay - if you can live with camouflage design, you could even get a new one for as little as 400€.

I might have miscounted, but there are 20 dedicated string prgrams on the X50's voice list, compared to the M50's 30 _________________ Regards, Carsten

I must listen to the M50 strings more.....
I think the X50 strings are more high, more sprinkeling...if you know what I mean.
The string combi's are great....maybe I must make some new one....
Are there more combi's or prog banks to download else?
greetings,
robbie |

Well, besides the M3 Producer file there are Dan Stesco's packet for M50 in the Karma-Lab forums:
http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14898
Also you can find quite a lot of downloads at Karma-Lab's M3 download list:
http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/korg-m3:list-of-community-pcgs
I haven't really tried the Combi's but for example check out the QRProgs at the bottom.
Also some Pink Floyd sounds can be found here:
http://www.reprehensible.net/~scrap/PROG.zip
There to name a few Although you won't find any string sounds in these but I recommend that you check them out. _________________ KORG M50-61, SP-200 Blue Edition
