Created from scratch, GEs, Combis and Sounds using M3 Editor and
Stephen Kay's KM3 Software Editor. Everything is played in realtime
and all SFX, Snares and Crashes played in realtime, assigned to Pads.
The set contains 6 fully edited Combinations and also 24 Programs
created from scratch using the internal ROM on the M3.
For Demos click on the link below, i would appreciate any feedback:

Hello Basari:

Great job on these. Some real talent there my friend. I especially liked the Chronologie VI and Lastnimzy combos.

Thanks for sharing!

Nedim,
Nice work-

Oxygen VII- not my style of music (so I'm not one to comment), sounds very similar to what I'm familiar to

Karunesh- nice start to the piece, then the sameness of the backing/ryhthm tracks sounded automated to my ears (and therefore fake)

Chronologie VI: Delicious rhythm starting out, nice build up of tracks. Overall liked it

Oxygene IV: 80's soundtrack material to my ears: faithful re-creation of the original. The only thing that seemed out of place was the little rhythm cricket-like sound (you hear it solo at the very end)

Vangestra: Sorry- for folks that like this style of music this may be good, but I don't care for the "Chariots of Fire" style

Last Nimsy: Liked the funky bass and overall rhythmic style, my favorite of the batch, didn't seem to evolve much though.

I suppose these demos are just a flavor of what you can do with these Combis- if these are all played in real time then I can imagine once you throw it into the sequencer you'll be able to tweak much more out of the backing/rhythm parts you created with KARMA and have more creative freedom with layering solos and other parts on top of all of it.

I don't think these demos does your work full justice, 'cause while there will be a number of us that are doing solo work like a 1 man band, inevitably (at least to my ears), the sound of "auto-accompaniment", which is all to prevalent on the air waves to my tastes, will creep in.

Where are all the other forum viewers responses? This is one slow forum!

Thanks Randy, if i was to comment i would basically say pretty similar to what
you said...the taste and preference of music varies between people but most
of the basics are usually the same. This is intended more for ElectronicRobotic
music hence it is more of REPEATING...but as you said, this Combis thrown in
a Seq can do wonders, if someone else uses them might sound 100 times better
then me or another person might sound worst then me. Music is mostly what you make of it.

Hi Nedim,

Thanks for posting the demos. They were all very expertly done, and you've reached Grand Master level with your M3 very quickly. I don't personally enjoy listening to the prominent "washboard" clicking sound in the Jaressque pieces, but that's more of a comment about the originals rather than anything you've done. My favorites were Karunesh and especially the synth (EXB_Radias?) rhythm and lead sounds in TheLastNimzy.

Best regards,
Rob

Thanks James, Stefanus, KM3 is a very Complex software but not complicated.
Yes, you can convert MIDI to GE, most of my stuff is done that way. I would
recomend this software to anyone who owns Korg Machines, it will take time
to get used to it but the end results are great. If you can go for it and also you
have support for it all over, here, on Karma Lab, many users use it.
