I just bought this machine today and I spent 4 hours on it and I do not really have anything to show for it yet. I'm bummed, but not beat yet.

Here's what I want to do: Sample a drum beat that I create with the installed presets, then build layers using the electric keyboard sound and then add a horn instrument on top with the built in microphone. I want to do this live.

While trying to do this today, I think I may have gotten caught up a tree and I want to restore the factory settings. How do you do this?


What I do not like about the user guide:
1) There is not a good overview of menus and basic functions for the unit

2) The language is not clear. Use simple language that we all understand when explaining a new procedure, like, "Here's how you create a simple song from start to finish."

3) The descriptions skip important steps or pre-steps.

Your help is much appreciated.

Have you tried the EZ start guide on the Korg website? http://www.korg.com/microsampler

You can't save data to the ROM bank - copy the ROM bank into one of the other banks and tweak away. Or start with a blank bank and load samples you want to use from the ROM bank into the new bank.

There is no factory settings, just Initialize a bank to clear it.

I tried copying a bank earlier, but i think i'll have better luck after reading that short intro guide.

Remember that you can get to any edit menu by holding down the edit button and selecting a key. The manual doesn't explain that well.
