I think I've seen every Kronos video on the web and this video stands out for one major reason:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtkRwUtqhkk

What is with that black line? Electrical tape covering (or hiding) ports? Electrical tape hiding words on an early pre-production model? Of all the KRONOS 88's I've seen in the demos, only THIS one has it.

These don't

It's obvious that the black line is a result of an alien abduction. The Kronos has been probed!

nope. can't be. Look at the audio cables. They stick out from the KRONOS almost the same as a USB stick and there is NO shadowing except from the lights above and to the slight left.

I'm betting electrical tape.

Looks like a USB stick to me, which would fit since demonstrators were using USB sticks. Remember that this is a stage; lighting was close and shadow directions can change quickly. Note the shadow for the power cord, for instance.

Yep. At 24:03 there's a huge zoom in.

USB stick w/ shadow confirmed.

I was hoping for some cooler explanation like it was an early prototype and the electrical tape hides a cool feature like lazers or a retinal scanner. I'd have bought two if it was a retinal scanner.

Sad

How about a retina-powered D-Beam?

Would it be possible to overthrow a small country or at least a super Wal-Mart with it? Cause that'd be cool.

I think that with it being mounted where it is then it's more likely to be a rectal scanner than a retinal one Laughing

Shocked I'm not really sure what I'd do with a rectal scanner.
