Hey folks, I searched around but couldn't find anything pertaining to this:

Does your wavedrum head have a bulge in the middle? I'm guessing its supposed to be this way, with the foamy sensor thing on the inside touching the surface (a bit moreso in the middle).

Thanks! Shocked

Yup, they're all like that. Wink

These two threads are worth taking a look at:

Tensioning (tuning) the drumhead
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58750

Pressure sensor height
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=55855

They both offer some useful info that relates to your question.

The bulge from the pressure sensor is necessary to fully activate the pitch-bending and sound-effects aspect of that sensor. It allows for a greater range of movement than would be available if the sensor was positioned below, or even with, the plane of the drumhead.
