[size=18]HI friends ,Nice to join you here....Can any body to give me the diffrence between the Oriental Scales already programmed as 1/4 tone (-50) in the arranger keyboards and those of AK2 ORIENTAL SCALE CONVERTER .I see a lot of keyboard musicians connect this scale converter by MIDI IN .does that converter have other secret tuning which arn't exist in the normal oriental scales ?????? Thanks _________________ Helleo friends .what about music ? It's our Fantasme isn't it ??? |

The scales are the same, the AK2 only makes your life easier,
instead of going theru menus on the AK2 you just press buttons. _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com

Thanks so much BasariStudios for your attention and also for your reply ,but if you permit to me I have only another calarification about the oriental Scales ,Personally i Had tried to play some musical segments which i listened in many Oriental songs but i failed to find these segments (notes) ,for example ; sometimes I spend two weeks training on a segment of a song through all the Oriental Maqamat but I couldn't find these notes ,while I see people who use the Scale coverter play these segments easily on the same keys of Synth , especially turkish and Maghrebian Rai Music. Waiting for your reply .THanks _________________ Helleo friends .what about music ? It's our Fantasme isn't it ??? |

Well it happend that i am Turkish and i also listen to a lot of Rai music too.
Besides the Scales we also use a lot of Pitch Bending and thats where
you probably get confused but there is another thing. In Most of the Turkish
Scales we use USER SCALES from the Synth where they dont actually go
down to -24-24 which i think Arabic is but go down to even -49 per Tone.
I am not too Theorethical in the Maqamat, i am more Technological as how
to achieve them but not really how to play them...maybe Karim will see this.
Karim is actually the guy who created the AK2, from Kelfar Technologies, he is here. _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com

Thanks so much Basaristudios for your attention again . the errors may come from the petch bending(Y+/Y+//X+/X- )!! as you have said ,yes i agree with you; the absent of these parameters of PB affect negatively the modilation of a Segment.
