I see the original wavedrum from years ago had midi. Why can't the new wavedrums have midi?

The new WaveDrum works a bit like an effects processor, taking actual input sound streams from its built in microphones, which could be convolved into a modeled sound, or used to trigger a sample.

In short, MIDI is alright for triggering events like the playback of a sample, but the new WaveDrum is considerably more sophisticated than that.

Ah I thought the original and this one were more alike then different I am obviously wrong! I really know little about midi I have a document from roland someone posted a link to in the Kronos thread so I am learning. I guess once I get a synth I'll just use audio and sample what I want or run an audio track in and use it. Alway a help X-Trade thanks!
