I use my iPad and iTouch with iRig for effects, it makes for a very flexible system, so so many apps to choose from!
And now there are foot pedal adaptors for iOS devices that work very as well as some USB/MIDI devices that are compatable.
My preferred Apps are Fillatron (by Moog) and AmpliTude.
Other Apps I use are Curtis, Improvox, RjDj, Loopy, ProLoop, Vocoder SV-5, Trippy Replay, and Jasato with fun and interesting results

Cool

Since I bumped I should respond.

I've been using a Moog Mf-101 & 102 and using one ep-2 per pedal. I've also been using a NY Tech CompTortion box all of this hits a looping pedal. My next box will be a line selector from the output of one of my WDs. So I can toggle between two separate fx chains or an Un-effected unit and one that's processed. I'm thinking a Moog Freqbox might also be a worthwhile investment.

I think I just achieved effects nirvana... I'm running a WD into a mini KP for fx, then into a KP3 for looping and more fx, then into to a K-Pro for more looping and ridiculously convenient synthy overdubs.

It's stupidly easy to do real-time construction of epic techno tribal nonsense.

Now to find a market for epic tribal techno nonsense.

Epic tribal techno nonsense! Sounds like a new band name for you! So far I haven't really cared for guitar pedal. Not enough real time control. Ok for guitar you set it up and let loose but with the wave drum I want more real time tweaking. I am thinking a Moro would be great or the new kaoss iapp. Sadly it doesn't work on my older iPod touch.

There's a Behringer midi foot pedal array that lets you control the KP3's X-Y coordinates with 2 expression pedals, and gives you 8 on/off buttons to map to the loop buttons 'n stuff. Very flexible system, and the signal path remains full stereo, which is not often the case with guitar fx boxes.

Behringer isn't something I have ever considered mainly it seems to be my perception of poor quality and short lived gear. I will say that pedal sounds quite interesting but first comes a kaoss. I won't buy myself a toy until the family is covered by Santa! Time flies you know. I also need to read up on midi design as Inwould like to build a midi keyboard, or other cc capable gear myself!

Sometimes perception differs from reality. Don't base yours on their horrid plastic guitar pedals.
