1. When I have a sample in the mac editor and I transfer it to the sampler it always arrives as a "loop" is there anyway to make it "one shot" before transferring ,as I tend to then re sample the loop so it can be one shot ?

2.If I transfer a loop to the sampler and then I use "Keyboard Mode" it stretches it across the keyboard as expected .What pitch/note should the sample be so all the keys play the correct notes should the original sample be C3 first ?

If you go to the sample you just copied to the MS, you can change the release of the sample to maximum (127 i think) and turn off loop with the button that says loop or in the settings. That will make it a one-shot.

Don't know about this one. I think someone else will have to chime in. Smile

You tweak the pitch in sample mode so that ,in keyboard mode the sample corresponds to the right note Wink

1. To transfer the sample as One Shot, press the virtual key in the editor which the sample is on, then go to the button that says "LOOP" and switch it to OFF. It's right below the second octave. This changes only that specific sample, so you have to repeat the process for all the keys you want. There's no need to change the release if unless you want to tap the key and have it play with a decay.

2. As long as the sample is in the key of C, it will be pitched correctly. Having it in C1, C2, C3, etc. will vary depending on the type of sample and the octave you want it to be in.

But you do have to make sure you have release at 127 and decay at 127 if you want it to play all the way to the end after releasing the key. So if you have release at say 63 and just barely tap the key it will start releasing right away so you may not hear the entire sample if it is long. If it is at 127 then it will always play all the way through.

Check the manual on pages 29-30.
