Hi,

I mentioned somewhere before, but I think it is worth to discuss it:

Our Oasys becomes older and sooner or later we have to fix problems, looking for spare parts etc. There was a topic and solution about the touch screen and in the forum there are several topics about repairs, spare parts etc. But now after Korg finished production of Oasys I think the "repair" topic will become more and more interesting for us. I would recommed to create either a sticky threat or a special section, or something different where we ca bundle those technical information .... of course not discussions over 6 or so pages but maybe the solution or a link to the threat ...
What do you think and how could it be handled to bundle the infos?

BTW There is a sticky started by Daz, last edited 2007 about resources, but...

best regards

Great idea SoulBe - like you suggest should be a list of links relating to faults and repairs; this avoids going through 12 pages before finding one repair comment!

We could maybe have a convention in thread titles too - by adding 'Solved' or 'Unsolved' so that it is easy top pick out the links.

The thread you mention should only have links to 'Solved' cases.

is a must I guess. Has all the parts numbers, diagrams
and in the second part/appendix photographs of how to take out the hard drive, dvd and identify numerous parts
listed in the first part.

It was mentioned in this thread, the downloads still works:

Maybe the pdf's can be saved here in the forum archives
somewhere..

"SoulBe", das ist eine hervorragende Idee, die ich sehr untertütze!

I fully support your idea. As an owner of two OASYS-88, I have a special interest in the future of my babies...

BTW: Did anyone ever had to exchange the fan of the OASYS?

The fan of my OASYS with the lower serial number was always slightly louder than the fan from the other one, which came from the last production cycle. But it's just annoying enough, that I am thinking about an exchange of the fan. I've just wrote an e-mail to the distributor...let's see if replacement fans are available and if yes, what they will cost...

Good idea Cello, maybe Sharp can make some input here how such a knowledge base could be made without splitting off the Oasysforum.
Maybe some of us are willig to go through say 10 or 20 pages each to find out, what could be worth or not and create a pool or give hints to the admin, I don´t know what would be the best way to do this ...

best regards
