You need an audio adapter like one of these.
The 1/4" plugs go to the L+R audio outputs on the synth while the stereo mini plug goes to the built-in audio input port on the iMac. If you have a different audio interface on the iMac, then you need a cable or adapter that has two 1/4" mono plugs on the synth end and then whatever connector the interface uses for audio line-level inputs.
Midi has nothing to do with getting audio sounds from any synth to any computer. Midi isn't audio and has no sound. Midi is control and event data. So USB-midi also has nothing to do with it. THe MicroKorg XL doesn't send or receive any audio over USB. The sounds only go to the audio output and headphone jacks.
On Maschine, you need to learn how to sample by picking the audio input ports that are hooked up to the synth or whatever audio gear that you want to record/sample.
