do you want to use a car battery (= easy) ,
or an external battery pack (easy) ,
or should everything be inside the Wavedrum ?
you will need a soldering iron and a multimeter
8 NiMh rechargeables with 2400 mAh will probably last 6-8 hours ... |

Hi Waterdrum, thanks for replying!
I'm thinking an external battery pack if that's possible?(and maybe a car battery !) |

Really appreciate your help, will certainly let you know when I attempt the job!
Reading your posts I realise that you definitely know your onions so can I pick your brain some more please?
I play taiko, Japanese drums in a band, but on occasion need to play alone to an audience.
I'd love to incorporate the wavedrum by laying down a loop track on some kind of a machine first, then play the real drum along to it...
can you recommend a machine that i could record a loop or even a whole performance backing track onto?
cheers, yours, Bill |

there are so many loopers on the market
it depends on what you want to do with looping and on your wallet .
and what possibilities you want to have next week.
(like 2 or more separate loops to switch between)
http://www.thomann.de/gb/cat.html?gf=looper&oa=pra
I do software looping only , with Cubase, so no first hand info
personally I would go for Stereo , SD card / Usb
good delay functions and TAP tempo , so a Digitech Jamman Delay maybe ?
(some people say , they dont like the noisy buttons but with no mic around =OK)
a BOSS RC 30 or even a RC 300 can do a lot
interesting but not cheap
EHX 48000 with a separate footpedal.
some looper pedals (in the 300 bucks and up range) are said to be especially useful for live performing , but I cannot recommend any special brand (was it the PigTronix or the Boomerang III looper ?).
this is a guitarist forum thread

I use a rechargeable battery pack that is marketed for portable dvd players. The market is kinda dried up for these, but that means when you find one you can usually get it for cheap.
Mine came with multiple tips for different devices.
I use 2. One for the Wavedrum and 1 for my Handsonic HPD-15.
Otherwise a 12v motorcycle battery and a power inverter works, but may need a filter if noisey electronically. |
