Hello!

I just got a PA900 and I wanted to try the 'aftertouch' control. I never before had a keyboard with aftertouch, so I am not really sure how this is supposed to work. I tried setting "A. Touch Curve" in Global: Controllers menu, but that doesn't seem to do anything. I am trying with different sounds, applying pressure after the key has been pressed, but I am unable to produce any audible effects.

Is there any fool proof way to test this? Do I need to setup something, perhaps it only works with select sounds? I'd appreciate any tips on how to test the aftertouch effect. Thanks.

Hi

You should try these sounds, for example:
Warm pad, Dark Anna, Air Clouds, Vintage Sweep, Analog Lead, Glide Lead, OB Lead, Big& Raw, etc...
Many Synth Pads or Synth lead are using the AT as a modulation input.

You can also edit your sounds to add the AT as a controller for the parameter you want.

I tried Warm pad, Dark Anna, Analog Lead, Glide Lead, but... well, I can't hear anything happening. Is there something else that need setting up? How exactly should this work? I press the key, keep it pressed and keep applying varying amounts of pressure, like wanting to do a vibrato on a stringed instrument?

Nevermind. Got it working. Apparently I was too gentle and pushing more left right than straight down.

look for sound with DNC.
Those work with aftertouch,...Scat Voices DNC in Strings, Wave Cycle DNC in Synth Pad etc..

It is possible assign "After touch" to assignable pedal?

My intention is playing the drums with the pedal while I play using "Movie Str. 1 DNC. "
