|

Hello all, would anyone know how to sync my Volca keys to Cubase 5LE tempo clock please? I am using a Tascam US1800 for the audio midi interface from my windows 7 PC.
I know its probably me and either the set up of Cubase or my Tascam, as its only one lead out of the Tascam and into the Volca but just cant seem to get the Volca to start when I press play on Cubase, any help on this would be appreciated
Thanks Martyn _________________ Korg gear past and present:- DW6000, DW8000, MicroKorg, MicroKontrol, R3, Nintendo Korg DS10, VolcaKeys.

Hey Martyn - it´s Martin/Xenosapien
are you using MIDI to sync? or are you trying to sync via the audio-Sync IN on the Volca?
I´m not using Cubase, but if you´re using MIDI, it should suffice to activate "send clock" on the MIDI output settings in Cubase for the Tascam.
You may have to set it to the appropriate MIDI channel, but ideally it should send MIDI clock out globally and the Volca should pick up on the tempo (as well as start/stop messages) automatically through the MIDI in on the device.
If you´re trying to sync it via the audio-Sync IN (like syncing one Volca to another), you´ll have to send a pulse trigger signal as audio into the Volca. You´ll have to look up the specifics of the pulse trigger (there´s up/down and down/up varieties, I think), but most modern DAWs include a function for that as well.
In Reaper, it´s available under the "Track" functions somewhere, "insert Clock" or something.
Hope that helps at least a little bit |

Hello Martin and thanks for the reply, I had a play around with the cubase settings last night and got it synced perfectly via Midi And you are right, I hadn't got the Midi clock setting right . I was just experimenting and then transferred the midi cable to my R3 and also a Zoom drum box and all worked too, I then connected them up via the thru ports and they all worked together Martyn _________________ Korg gear past and present:- DW6000, DW8000, MicroKorg, MicroKontrol, R3, Nintendo Korg DS10, VolcaKeys.
