Hi,
I have a korg ms20 mini and I'd like to extend the possibilities of it. I Think Memory boy deluxe is what I am after. But I have a doubt for electrical compatibility between the synth and pedal. MS20 output impedance is 3.5 kOhm and MemoryBoy Deluxe input is 1MOhm. Is there any possibility to damage my synth or the pedal.
Is it possible to use guitar pedal (delay, distortion, etc. ) with the Korg MS 20?
Thanks for your help

I've never heard of anyone having an issue & since that pedal's input can take a much higher signal than the ms20m can deliver, i wouldn't worry about it.
Personally i plug my synth gear directly into all manner of fx units ,modern & vintage & i never check the impedance of the fx processor's input. _________________ My current Korg gear. MS20 Mini... & now the .... Oh, maybe not !

Thanks for your quick answer!
Have you ever use the Metal Zone Boss MT-2 with the korg ms20? Good result?
I don't know if it's worh to add some distorsion to the korg or if it's better to get the distorsion from the korg itself ..
Any opinion about the sound you get with electroharmonix deluxe and the Korg ms20? Which is the best analog delay for this synth?
Thanks again! |

Honestly, i don't know what's best. There is no best. It's just a world of experimentation ,you try one thing & if it sounds good then it's mission accomplished, try another & if it doen't work try something else. It's how new sounds are found, what can i tell ya ? _________________ My current Korg gear. MS20 Mini... & now the .... Oh, maybe not !

I use mine with a Zoom G3 multieffects unit. Never had a problem.
Did I mention how awesome the G3 is? |

I made this drone track with an EHX Deluxe Memory Man 550TT. This was before I realized I may have had the Gain knob on the pedal a bit high.
Most of the distortion though is coming from the MS-20 Mini's filters - doesn't seem like it's necessary to add an external drive pedal to this synth. Sorry about the long silence at the end - after I bounced to master track I couldn't figure out how to remove it. I'll probably delete this track at some point and redo it with better level settings and some reverb.
