Re-authorization of OASYS: korguser.net Not Accepting.

Post by johnlangstieh »

I had a surprise message on the OASYS Screen. It said:
"This Oasys must be re-authorized before it can be used....
and it Displayed a Public ID Number
[new one]".
The message said that I had to go to the Website korguser.net to begin the re-authorization.
I logged in into my korguser.net account.
In the side bar there was a link for "Get OASYS reauthorization CD".
When I clicked this link, my account rightly showed my OASYS as registered, and just below was a Blank Box for entering Public ID.
I entered the Public ID and in the manner as instructed.
But it is Not Accepting and throws message " Incorrect Password of Public ID. Please check it". I have tried many times, but the same not accepting message.
My Korg Distributor [here in India] also seems to be helpless. Help !!!javascript:emoticon('')[/b]

The oasys sometimes displays that msg in error when the ram is getting old and is not seated properly. Open the oasys and take the ram sticks out and put them back in.

Have you changed the oasys hard drive? The only time u are suppose to get that msg is when u change the hdd. If u have not hanged the HDD chances are its just a ram problem.

It happens to both my O's once in a while.

Also, the Korg Distributor in India can contact Korg Japan for assistance.
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)

Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

Thanks Friends for the reply/suggestion.

Anukis, I cleaned the RAM Cards and the RAM Slots - but problem still persist ??!!
As regards the HDD, no I have not changed.
I will try with New RAM Cards - and hope.

MartinHines, yes I have contacted my country's Distributor. They have asked me to send the Oasys there - as it seems to be PCI/Software matter.

I will first try with New RAM Card.
If it does not solve, then I will send to my country's Distributor.

Thanks again. [/list]

udate... jiggled the pci card now oasys boots up. Korg said reauthorization message means Hardware or contact problem. Lucky it was contact since hardware is hard to find.

Hi Tropdibo. But NO LUCK or me. I tried tempering/gently knocking the PCI Card, cleaned the RAM Sticks, etc, etc ...............even Shook the Oasys.............but All in vain??
(By the way how could you jiggle the PCI Card when it is firmly in place ?)

Hi John, you may have a point about pci card since I just basically touched it from under that plastic which made it difficult to access. I also for the 10th time re-seated the ram. after talking to authorized technician and his exacerbation with several Oasys in his shop and no access to hardware from korg especially spare motherboards with oasys coding... with little hope left I actually tried for the last time turning on oasys to see if it worked and thats when the miracle happened.
Have you tried trying to boot up from CD? Also the guy told me to change battery..

Hi Tropdibo. Thanks for your Suggestions - I'v tried them All - New Ram, Changed Battery, Tried from the Restore CDs [these start to read, but then soon just Freeze], Opened the entire casing to clean [and shake] the Mother Board. NO LUCK !
You also mentioned about 'Boot from CD'. Well, when I Power the Oasys, it automatically shows 'Boot from CD'. I think it boots from CD only.
I........ think, must be Mother Board Problem.......
Curious thing is - Why is the Oasys displaying Public ID which is Not the correct one ?
And 'n' number of times I've tried/experimented - it is always this same incorrect Public ID. javascript:emoticon('')

Hey man I feel for you, motherboards on oyasys seem to be going down after x amount of time depending on exposure to dust or corrosion of contacts among other things. He said the more one may have moved it around to gigs or whatever jolts them too... You still could have a bad contact somewhere but motherboards are the main suspect.
