Hi,
Can anyone please point me in the right direction as regards adding a
rotary effect which I can control via the Joystick to the Organs that do not have the effect all ready

I am unfamiliar with the PA900 and can only speak for the PA3X and earlier models.
If you have organ sounds with a "v" in the name then the rotary will be of no use.
(The "V" implies velocity to trigger another multisample with fast rotary already in it - so not good)
Some of the organ sounds use multisamples and some of those already have the "Leslie" effect in the multisample - adding rotary to these is a disaster.
By all means try adding the effect but the "rotary effect for organ" is most effective for sounds which utilise the "drawbar" organ sound configuration.
Korg are way overdue in getting a quality "B3" tone wheel organ facility - they are even behind Tyros in this regard.
Anyhow, a quick, easy way to test this and add the effect is to (in SOUND mode) "copy" the effects from an organ sound which already uses the rotary
Cheers

IF you have a swell pedal, the 'V' organs can be set to 'Fixed' velocity, which will stop you from accidentally changing them with your playing.
But the real problem applying a Leslie effect to the sound is, if the samples are already recorded from a Leslie, even the slow ones, you then get the sound of a Leslie on slow, being fed into a Leslie on slow or fast! And this isn't very real at all...
If you are applying a Leslie effect to anything, make sure it has no Leslie already sampled in. In fact, other than maybe some Vib/Chor already in the sound, you don't want ANY effects on it at all. I am not that familiar with the basic waveforms in the PA900, but if there aren't any Hammond samples done completely devoid of effects in the sample itself, you are up against it getting an authentic B3 sound.
Just curious, but why aren't you using the Drawbars section? It is, by FAR, the most realistic Hammond in the arranger... |
