OS 3.0.2 is slower than 2.1.2.

Even off "Lever Meter" and "String Resonance", while I change window or select another tab, or just start sequencer...Kronos displays momentary stop.

Is this issue only for first Kronos user??

The new KRONOS hasn't been officially released yet so I'm not sure if anyone could answer you on that yet.

Regards
Sharp.

I have noticed the same on my Kronos classic 88. But audio seems to switch just as quickly as it used to, it's just the display.

I have noticed that Kronos OS 3 is slihgtly faster. Especcially when it boots. In my case (with all KSC autoload) OS 2 was boot in about 3 minutes. OS 3 boots in about 2-2.5 minutes. And overall behavior seems to be the same as under OS 2.

I have first kronos. Not Kronos-X.

Yeah boot does seem to be a little faster. I meant mainly how the screen seems to lag slightly behind during page and patch switching.

I've also noticed some lag with switching programs and other things... slightly disconcerting.

Makes some sense since the OS now monitors for more screen events (touch vs touched and drag) which requires time (albeit non perceivable) for the OS to figure out the difference, and is fairly more detailed on interactive graphics on some instances (VU meters), all of which require constant interrupts which can trigger heavy code.

Don't know how the OS is coded (C++?) but optimizing a few core things into Assembly could speed up things (but would limit code to the architecture of one particular set of CPUs) and if you add slow responding screen sensors that are inherently slow/limited to give input to the system, it all ads up to visible hick-ups. My Galaxy S5 does that too and, in theory, it really shouldn't... Smile

Kind Regards,
AMR

Yeah, startup is faster : 1:30 instead of 2:14. i noticed long time between songs...

Also, the compare function doesn't work well in Seq mode.

Thank you for the reply.

I really hope that the slower graphics issue don't affect response audio and USB function.

I wonder if this issue is just related by meter animation, that means at least CPU/GPU/Memory is not enough for current OS Sad

I guess it's time to upgrade with some SLI Nvidia GTX graphics cards.

Sadly, this is the case for me as well. I have several combis that worked flawlessly in v2 that cut off completely in v3. I am going to have to reload 2.1.2 before I can use the keyboard live again.
