So.....hi, and I am a new owner of a Kross 88!

Old owner of a Korg M1 which I've been using since the 80s, and more recently a SGX Pro which I've owned used since the 90s.

I love my Kross! The keyboard feel is soooo much better than the cheesy Krome, which I was all but prepared to buy prior to trying - what were these guys THINKING???

Apart from that - can someone PLEASE TELL ME why every time I enter Combi mode and play piano and strings, for example, I get a GODDAM DRUM TRACK ACCOMPANYING ME? If I wanted a freakin' drum track, I would ask for one! I've been going through the user manual and trying to save my favorite sounds, but apparently the combis come with this RETARDED drum track! I mean the drums sound great and the beat is cool - but out of the box? I just want the freakin' combi!!

HELP!!!

Okay - it appears to have been the Arpeggiator button. But why is this pre-selected every time I flip to a new combi sound? Can't the default be set to no arpeggiator for new sounds? Or when flipping through combi sounds do I manually have to click it off every time?

So - yes, it's the arpeggiator button - but now I'm saving some sounds to my favorites, and even when I turn the arpeggiator OFF, it still saves the patch with it ON, so I have to shut it off manually while performing? WTF???

In Global mode, you can make it so that the arpeggiator, drum track and step sequencer are off for every program and every combination. Just remember to write it to global when you make that selection. Whenever you change something in global mode or program mode or combination mode you have to write it in order to have it saved.

Id also check that you are actually saving the sounds properly if not there is a fault. All the time I mod a sound and always turn off the arps and drum tracks and a quick save always works. If your saving things into the favourites make sure you save the favourites bank too or rebooting they be gone from the favs, but that won't save the actual sound itself if you changed it that has to be done outside of Favs in combo or prog depending on the sound your using

You can make a single Global change so that Drum Tracks/ ARPs/StepSequencers will never play when you select any Program or Combi.
Here's how:
Click on GLOBAL/Media button.
Go to the SYSTEM page by pressing the button under 'PAGE UP'
On the SYSTEM page, go to the checkbox next to ARP /SS/ DT, and press and put checkmark in the box (by pressing the ENTER button) to turn these functions off.
Important: Be sure to SAVE your GLOBAL SETTINGS before you turn off your Kross.

It seems that a Drum Track are ALWAYS paired to a given Program. So, when I switch Programs while performing, suddenly I have a different Drum Track playing.
Is there a way around this, so that my preferred drum track keeps playing, no matter which Program or Combi?

No. It's not an arranger.
