Hi there, I've been trying to figure this out but am not able to. I know that you can save recorded audio on the Kross as a wav file, but can you do the same thing, except saving it as a MIDI file instead?

Use the Save to Standard MIDI File function which is found on the MEDIA > FILE page. There is more info in the Parameter Guide on page 184.

Hmm, actually still having problems. When I save my song as a MIDI file, I get a file with almost no file size and no real data inside it. What did I do wrong? I rendered the song as a .wav and converted it to MIDI through Global Media mode.

It sounds like maybe you are using the Audio Recorder to record your performance. I believe this only creates a wav file and not MIDI. For that you should record using the Sequencer. Check out the Operations Guide starting at page 51. How to save the MIDI file is included at the end of the chapter.

You should learn about the difference between MIDI and WAV. A WAV file is an uncompressed high-quality audio file, and a MIDI file is just a set of instructions (notes, velocities, program changes, etc) used to play a piece of music on a keyboard/computer/module.
You cannot convert a WAV to a MIDI file, and you cannot convert a MIDI file to a WAV file (except for rendering the audio output of the playback of the MIDI file).
