Hey there, don't worry about asking questions that why the forum is here
The mod generator on ms20 is output, not input so it's not possible unfortunately _________________ Live fast, ride fast |

@cuca no problems with your English. No worries.
Like @Jamie Munro said. You have to find another mod source. A couple of options below because I'm strange and experiment with different control methods while I watch TV
SQ-1 as an LFO:
In the absence of a synced LFO (the one on all MS-20's being free running with no input), KORG seems to have made the SQ-1 to also do things like this. It not only functions as a sweet sequencer for pitch and trigger of notes but, using the slide function and two or more steps, makes a great external, secondary LFO for modulating anything.
Key sync CV with SQ-1:
Some people don't know the SQ-1 acts as a MIDI-to-CV converter but the catch is it has to be stopped because when it's running it ignores its MIDI in. If you want to do this you have to send MIDI out from the MS-20 mini or a MIDI keyboard controller to the SQ-1. This is possible only through the USB port. From there you go into the SQ-1 MIDI in. This is also only possible with USB port. You'll need route through a computer or find something like an iConnectMIdI4+ that can host USB MIDI. From the SQ-1 CV out go into something like LPF Cutoff Freq in, adjust LPF EG2/Ext to 10, etc., and play away.
BeatStep Pro option:
The SQ-1 is good quality and relatively cheap. Another good option, which you might prefer, is to just get a BeatStep Pro which does the same as above but much more straightforward. I'm lucky to have both and they are always running together, the BSP being the source for notes and some additional modulation with its velocity out (just another CV out) and the SQ-1 with its two CV-Gate channels ready to modulate other things. Just the BSP alone will get you where you want to be however.
Hope this helps. _________________ SC: https://soundcloud.com/kdub101010

You could use the SQ-1 as a clock source that would trigger EG-1 and you can basically use as a shapable triangle LFO. This wouldn't create key sync, but you could get tempo sync.
Edit: you could use the ESP and an external signal to create the clock also. |
