It looks like, the resolution is not for wide screen and everything is stretched. Also I miss color of instruments.... |

Yeap. Some users just don't get it....
You don't pay nearly 4000 euros for "IT'S GOOD ENOUGH".
The image resolution must match the screen's native resolution !!!!!!!!!
THIS IS ALL. Did we asked for so much?
Bescki, with that stretched image this is all u get from instrument's icons... |

I am in no way shutting my eyes to a problem, if? it exists then more
than competant people in Korg will see it and remedy it,after all they
have a vested interest in selling keyboards.
I have had my 4x since November 6th, in my opinion the screen presents
no problems, the lift and raise is smooth,it locks down well, it is very
responsive and clear.
With any electronic item the rule is don't repair it if aint broke and you
should add don't go looking for trouble because you have a little knowledge.

The update is released and no change in screen resolution.
Ecca don't u really see that this is a image at a smaller resolution streched on a bigger res display? You should check the image and fonts during update process. That is it's native resolution. In that menu the fonts were very well defined. When it booted completly .... The same dissapointment.
It was better to preserve the pa3x display (refering resolution, not size, not touch). The capacitive touch is a big step forward indeed. I agree good thinks made on pa4x.
The truth is that it will take a lot of time for korg developers/designers to redraw every menu at screen resolution and with those like you who are pleased with everything they get I don't think I'll see a resolution improvement on pa4x. It's a shame....... |

My misstake. I wanted to tell "image's resolution"
The screen res remains forever the way it is. But screen resolution is ok ... The inage displayed is too small and streched |

I think pixels are stretched too, so they cannot change the display to better view.... I dont know why KORG didnt put a good screen for a keyboard for 3700€. You can find a better screen on 50€ tablets.... :$ |

I am a programmer by career.
It's obvious to me that Korg re-used the existing software that handles the display. The new display can obviously handle higher resolution. But new code would have to be written and TESTED. This is expensive due to the labor involved. So, they did not spend the money to do it.
But look, it's a touch screen, and the "button" area have to remain the same size anyway.
Sure, it is not as pretty. But it gets the primary job done quite well, even if the letters have rough edges.
What's the analogy to another tool? Maybe a violin that sounds wonderful and plays exceptionally well, but has nasty scratches on it? _________________ Synth song of mine: https://www.reverbnation.com/glenngalen/song/21469847-searching-and-believing-synth-beat

Korg sells many units. Thousands perhaps.
One unit costs 500$ max (as hardware).
The rest up to 4000$ is what it can do as an instrument.
Software makes the diference. When you ask 4000$ for a device I expect some quality. A redesigned user interface was a "must have" for pa4x. They changed the display to bring something new, but they sould do the complete upgrade (image res).
I connected video output to a 30" monitor to count effective pixels of image. It seems to have a 320x240 pixels resolution. It is too low resolution even for a "scratched violin". I hope they will launch an os ver. 1.2.x or 2.x.x to bring a new user interface, but I don't thik they will do that soon...
They are many users sharing my opinion but korg team will do whatever they want. |

Well, they are not going to see any more of my money. I feel bad for even purchasing this model, I’m done with arrangers. I wish they improve pa4x resolution but doubt that will happen even though the screen is capable of higher resolution. Korg literally just repackaged old product and added few “old-new” features.
There goes my rant 🙄 _________________ ....Korgy.... |

If you want to see what Korg can do with a display when they have a design team that gives a rats, take a look at a Nautilus or a Kronos.
But let’s face it, the undergarments of a PA4X are pushing twenty years or more old. Until Korg abandon their legacy hardware and build us something new from the ground up (or at least from the undergarments of the Nautilus/Kronos line) we are stuck with 90’s era graphics.
And effects architecture. And data transfer speeds. And storage speeds. And… 🙄🎹😎 |
